Giardino Moghul di Mehtab Bagh

Mehtab Bagh's garden was the last of eleven gardens built along the Yamuna River.
Emperor Shah Jahan saw this flooded plain in the shape of a crescent moon and found the place as the ideal location to see the Taj Mahal.
Mehtab Bagh, a square-shaped garden measuring about 300 x 300 meters, perfectly aligned with the Taj Mahal, was designed between 1631 and 1635.
During the rainy season, the ground becomes partially flooded.
Mehtab Bagh means 'Moonlight garden' and owes its name to the fact that on full moon nights it offers a spectacular view of the Taj Mahal.
