Each province has the name of its capital city:
the Province of Antananarivo includes the regions of Bongolava, Itasy and Vakinankaratra
the Province of Antsiranana includes the regions of Diana and Sava
the Province of Fianarantsoa includes the regions of Amoron'i Mania, Atsimo-Atsinanana, Haute Matsiatra, Ihorombe and Vatovavy-Fitovinany
the Province of Mahajanga includes the regions of Betsiboka, Boeny, Melaky and Sofia
the Province of Toamasina includes the regions of Alaotra Mangoro, Analanjirofo and Atsinanana
the Province of Toliara includes the regions of Androy, Anosy, Atsimo-Andrefana and Menabe
